Here at Norfolk Broads Direct we are really looking forward to Easter and the start of the season.  But before we start welcoming our visitors back, we thought that you might like to know what has been keeping us busy over the winter months. We have increased our fleet with the Fair Executive 1 & 2. In addition to the new members of the fleet, we have also invested in our current fleet, spending approx. £80,000 on boat refurbishments alone.  Not wanting to leave them out, our Cordon Rouge Cottages 1-5, and Apartment 6 have all benefited from the addition of a small decked area on the water side of the properties. This has been complimented with a nautical style stanchion railing and new patio furniture.

Full details of the work we have undertaken can be found below.

We are fully refreshed and ready for the year ahead, but don’t just take our word for it,  come and see for yourselves with a visit to the Norfolk Broads in 2014. NBD Spring Update on works undertaken over the winter period 2013/14

New Builds

Fair Executive 1 & 2 – Similar to our Fair Jubilee class, but developed to now accommodate up to four people.  Still with the spacious forward cabin, and now with a sofa bed in the saloon. No.1 is available for boating holidays from 12th  April, and No.2 will not be far behind.

Major Refits

Fair Senator 2 – As with the full internal refit of No.1 in 2009, we have acquired the only other Faircraft 33AC cruiser on the Broads.  This is in the preliminary stages of a complete refit, so that the internal layout of No.2 will be similar to No.1.

Fair Empress 1, 2 & 3 – These craft have all undergone an internal refit over the winter period, with new galleys (including new cookers and fridges) and new flooring throughout.  Teak and Holly strip flooring has been laid in the companionway, saloon and galley, with carpet retained in some of the cabins.

Fair Admiral 1 & 2 – These craft have all undergone an internal refit over the winter period, with new galleys (including new cookers and fridges) and new flooring throughout.  Teak and Holly strip flooring has been laid in the companionway, saloon and galley, with carpet retained in some of the cabins.

Fair Commodore 1, 2 & 3 – These craft have each undergone some upgrading over the winter.  Teak and Holly strip flooring has been laid throughout, and the hardwood internal cupboard doors have been replaced.

Fair Courier 2 – As with No.1 last year, No.2 has had all new galley units fitted and a new fridge (the cookers on both were replaced last year).

Fair Emperor 1 & 2 – These both underwent a major refit last winter, but work has shortly commenced on the installation of new seating on the outside top deck in time for Easter.

Fair Majesty 1&2 –  Retro fitted Tracvision TV

Fair Aristocrat –  Retro fitted Tracvision TV.  Teak and holly flooring, the saloon area now converts to a double making in a 4 -6 berth.
