Here at Norfolk Broads Direct, we have a soft spot for man’s best friend and the good news is, you can bring your four legged friend on your Norfolk Broads Direct boating holiday. All of our boats are available for dog friendly boating holidays and dogs are permitted for a small charge per dog of £25 for weekend hire and £40 for week long hire (payable on arrival). We can also supply you with a life jacket for your dog for a refundable deposit of £20.
It’s always a good idea to call in advance if you plan to bring your canine companion as we have a limited number of life jackets for dogs.
Your dog can enjoy so much of the Norfolk Broads with you and it’s such a pleasure to be able to enjoy a dog friendly holiday in the UK. Aside from being welcome on your Broads hire boat and enjoying the sights and banks of the Broads, there are also a large number of dog friendly pubs and cafes, including Radley’s in Salhouse and The Bridge Inn in Acle, which will provide your pooch with a drink of water and a cosy spot under your table.
You can even take your dog to Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden for a small charge (25p per dog), as long as he’s well behaved and kept on the lead. There are so many walking trails throughout the Broads for your dog to get plenty of exercise, as well as wooded areas and open spaces for your dog to explore. Just be careful, dogs are usually not permitted on Nature Reserves, including the reserve at Strumpshaw Fen, so it’s worth avoiding these if you have your dog in tow.

Donna said that her favourite places to take Bolt were Ranworth, Salhouse and the big green at Coltishall where Bolt loves to run around. After 6 consecutive years of boating holidays, they know all of the best places!
