Norfolk Broads Tide Tables

The Broads is subject to the tides and this impacts how a boat handles, which bridges you can get under and how you should moor your boat.

Tidal levels can vary considerably, especially around spring tides, during high winds and in the winter months.

You can find out the predicted tide information by following this link to the Broads Authority website.

Particularly strong tides exist close to the estuaries, so the area from Great Yarmouth up to Acle has strong tides. The other side of Breydon Water, up to Reedham and up to Somerleyton also experience strong tides.

Extra care should be taken when trying to moor up in strong tides – you should always try to moor up with the boat pushing against the tide. When tying up remember to leave extra slack on the rope, so that if the tide goes down the ropes will not be too tight. Always tie a spring line, this will stop the boat from drifting out if the tide should change.
